The Tandy Institute for Archaeology was established in 1985 as a research institution to support the excavations of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and as a center to introduce the field of biblical archaeology and the ancient near east to North Texas. The Tandy Center for Archaeological Research sponsors an active program of research, field excavations, and outreach.
